Brochures, Business Cards, Hang Tags with WARNING and Gift Certificates
First, this is a copy of my brochure. I used Microsoft Word with two columns so I could cut
it in half and have two on one page. I have to trim it a little to put in my brochure holder
but that is no problem. I have copied the contents of the brochure below. I also change my
photographs at the top of the brochure periodically.

The Best Way to Burn a Candle Candles have a memory! The first time you burn a candle will determine how well it burns thereafter. Before lighting, trim the wick to 1/4" or less. After lighting the candle, allow the wax to pool and form a well within a 1/2" of the outer materials. Typically this takes 2 to 2-1/2 hours. As the candle burns, center the wick in the meltpool if necessary so the candle burns straight down. Extinguish the candle and, while still warm, move the wick with a metal spoon handle, if necessary. Before you relight the candle, trim the wick to 1/4" or less. DO NOT BURN FOR MORE THAN 2 ½ HOURS AT A TIME. EXTINGUISH, TRIM WICK & RELIGHT. NEVER BURN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS CONTAINER. Note: If you only burn a candle for a few minutes at a time, the candle will slowly drill a small hole in itself, create a small core, and eventually run out of oxygen. This will cause the candle to burn poorly or not at all! SAFETY TIPS NEVER leave your burning candle unattended. Never leave wick trimmings, matches, or any other materials in the waxpool as these can create a fire hazard. Dispose of all packaging materials or foreign matter before lighting a candle. Always use a candle holder OR burn on a protected non-flammable surface. Keep your burning candles away from drafts and flammable objects such as curtains, dried flower arrangements, etc. Keep your candles out of the reach of children and pets. I hope you enjoy your candle as much as I enjoyed making it for you! Heartlight Designs Light up someone's life with a Gel Candle by Virginia Pauline (706) 865-4643
Below is a copy of my business card. Sometimes I put the contents of the warning on the backside, but since I now have the hang tags as well as the round stickers on the bottom, don't print them that way much anymore.

These are my hangtags. I will try to explain how I did them.
I use business cards (10) on page. The first thing I do is put a vertical line
at the center
using the "|" about five times so I know where the middle is. I then place what
I want on the front
of my hang tag on the right side (my icon, Co. name, etc.) On the left side of the
vertical line, towards
the bottom I put my address, phone & email, and web site url. Before printing I
remove the vertical line. Then print the front side of the business card.
Below is the contents of my warning which will go on the backside of
the business card I just printed. Note: The warning starts below the top of the card to leave
room for the punch to make the hole and not cut out the printing. After the warning has been printed
on the backside, I remove each individual business card and fold it in half, creasing good,
punch the hole, and add ribbon or what ever I am using to tie on the hang tag.
I offer a unique style of gel candles. They are clear in appearance, attractive
and burn anywhere from 12 to 150 hours or more. The light is diffused through
the entire candle giving more illumination. Your candle will give you hours of
enjoyment with proper care. I practice safe candle making by not using flammable
objects and only using limited color & scent in my handcrafted candles.
Warning
Burn only on a stable heat resistant surface. Always trim wick to 1/4" or less.
Only burn 2 hrs. at a time. Extinguish, trim wick & relight. Discontinue burning
when 1/2" of gel remains. Keep from children, pets, flammable objects & out of
drafts. BE SAFE - NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED!
Today I had a customer ask for two $50.00 gift certificates, so this is what I developed
so I could get three certificates on one sheet - I do use card stock for these, they are
nicer. Now, I guess I will have to design envelopes to go with them. Actually, I didn't
even have them printed before he arrived to get them. I had a total of 15 minutes.
Make your own "clipthewicks". It pays to recycle.
Made with super glue, popsicle stick and plastic found on dresses
or shirts. Used to hold folds or shoulder pads. Works wonderful. Use a little Fun-Tak (reusable adhesive) by
DAP found at Wal-Mart to keep popsicle in place on rim of glass.
